Penguins Rejoice: Linux on the iPhone


Linux geeks to rejoice when they hear that the first built with software based on Linux is successfully operating on 3G iPhone and iPod touch. The software is running the Linux kernel 2.6 and basic support for graphics, serial and entry into the USB interface. The developers have also created a multi-boot OS selection screen known as OpeniBoot to allow users to choose between Apple's iPhone OS and alternative platforms.
