Instructions

  1. Extract 185_root_script.zip into a folder on your computer. Place it on your Desktop where you can easily find it.
  2. On your phone, do the following;
    1. Go to Settings > Development and enable the USB Debugging option.
    2. Go to Settings > Power menu and disable Fastboot.
  3. Connect your phone to your computer via USB cable.
  4. On your computer, go to the folder where you extracted 185_root_script.zip and double-click on the r00t.batfile. Follow the on-screen instructions to root your phone.
    • NOTE: If you’re stuck at the “waiting for device to reboot” message or you got the error “/data/local.prop was not created, exit the script, try again,” you will need to disconnect your phone, reboot it, and change the date two days forward. Reboot your phone and repeat step 3 and step 4.
  5. Wait for the rooting process to finish, your phone will automatically reboot when it’s done and you are good to go.
  6. Check that you have root access by installing and running the Root Checker app on your phone.
  7. As an option after successful rooting, you may want to unlock your AT&T One X’s bootloader and set it to SuperCID.
