According to a post published earlier today on Sony’s official blog, Tablet S owners should have already received prompt messages for a system update over-the-air. If, however, you own a Tablet S and you are yet to receive the notification, you should check for a better Wi-Fi connection or reboot your slate one or two times.
Once you get the prompt message, you only have to click OK, and, in just a few short minutes, your tablet experience should be brought to the next level. A next level that comes with some serious updates and improvements, including a single motion panorama photo mode, direct access to your SD card, enhanced lock screen, direct access to notifications, and others.
The guys at Sony have put up a nice short video clip on YouTube showing off the most important new features, improvements, and updates offered by ICS on Tablet S, so, if you’re unsure how you’ll benefit from the ICS update, you should check out the video at the end of the post.
Before wrapping up this article, it’s worth mentioning that, if you don’t own a Sony Tablet S, now is a pretty good time to buy one. The 16 GB version goes for just $349 after a $50 rebate, while the 32 GB model is available for $449 with a similar discount, through May 12. Both models come with a free cradle accessory too, so, all in all, their price tag doesn’t seem like very much to pay for a 10-inch ICS tablet these days.
