- WinRAR, 7-Zip, or any file extracting software installed on your computer.
- Download the Android 4.0.3 XWLPG firmware package (I9100XWLPG_I9100NEELP4_NEE.zip, 383.6 MB) to your computer. You can also download from this alternate link.
- Download Odin3 1.85 (Odin 1.85.zip , 198.58 kB)
- Backup all personal data on your phone to make sure you have a copy of your personal data (e.g., contacts, SMS, MMS, Internet settings, Wi-Fi passwords, and the like) in case the procedure in this guide erases such data.

Instructions
- Extract the I9100XWLPG_I9100NEELP4_NEE.zipfile into a folder on your computer. You will get the following extracted files:
- I9100XWLPG_I9100XXLPX_I9100NEELP4_Home.tar.md5
- SS_DL.dll
- Extract Odin 1.85.zip file into a folder on your computer.
- Switch off your Samsung Galaxy S2.
- Reboot your Samsung Galaxy S2 into Download Mode. You can do that by pressing and holding the Volume Down key, Home Button (middle key), and Power button simultaneously. A warning message will appear. Press the Volume Up key to continue.
- Go to the folder where you extracted the Odin files and double-click Odin3 v1.85.exe to launch Odin3 on your computer.
- Click the PDA button in Odin3 and select the I9100XWLPG_I9100XXLPX_I9100NEELP4_Home.tar.md5 file.
- Do not make any other changes in the Odin3 options.
- Connect your Samsung Galaxy S2 to your computer via a USB cable. The word “Added” will appear in Odin3?s window. If it doesn’t appear, make sure you have properly installed the USB drivers on your computer. Also check that USB debugging is enabled on your phone.
- Once all are set, click the Start button in Odin3 to begin flashing the firmware to your mobile phone.
- Once the flashing procedure is complete, a box in Odin will turn green. You will also get the “Pass” message and your phone will automatically reboot. If your phone gets stuck at the Samsung logo for about 10-15 minutes, do the following steps:
- Remove the phone’s battery and reinsert it.
- Reboot your phone into recovery mode by simultaneously pressing the Volume Up key, Home button (middle key), and Power button.
- Select Wipe Data/Factory Reset and confirm the action on the next screen.
- Go back to the main menu and select Reboot System Now to restart your smartphone.
If Odin3 Fails
If the flashing fails or Odin3 becomes unresponsive, try the following steps:
- Disconnect your phone from the computer.
- Remove your phone’s battery and reinsert it.
- Close Odin3.
- Repeat the flashing procedure from step 4 onwards.
