Google I/O, The Annual developer-focused conference, is still a couple of days to go but Google Nexus 7 Tablet specs and design have already been revealed. Gizmodo Australia was the source of this report which spread online like a wildfire. In a blog post, it was allegedly the training document which revealed the specs, design and price of Google’s new Nexus 7 Android tablet. It wasn’t mentioned where the document came from, though. But nevertheless, the information are very close to the previous rumors and let’s now try to look into these information a little closer.
Google Nexus 7 is apparently a 7-inch tablet. The size may not matter so much for a lot of people but what’s behind its display does. The training document confirmed that it will sport the ARM-based quad-core processor, Nvidia Tegra 3, clocked at 1.3 GHz to ensure power comes natively. There was a rumor that it may come with 2GB of RAM but it won’t; Google sticks to giving this device 1GB which is more than enough to run the device operated by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. That’s right, Google wanted its device to be the first bearer of its newest version of Android.
Google Play Store revealed that Jelly Bean would be using Android 4.1′s architecture and not the strongly-rumored Android 5.0. There are no further details as to the main feature of the Jelly Bean OS but many believe it’s not just a sort of upgrade or enhancement to Ice Cream Sandwich despite the fact it is based on 4.0. More information are expected to be revealed during Google I/O which will commence on June 27th through 29th.
Nexus 7 is believed to come in two capacities, 8GB and 16GB. Having Tegra 3 as its CPU empowered it to sport GeForce 12-core graphics processor for superb display quality, featuring a resolution of up to 1280 x 800 pixels allowing 178-degree viewing angle. With this, you can be sure that you’ll be getting the best of what Google can offer. But aside from the ones I’ve already mentioned, Nexus 7 will be coming with a very powerful battery that could provide necessary power for 9 straight hours. Leakages suggest that Asus was the one to manufacturer this device and it was actually reported several months ago.
As for the price, the 8GB will be marketed for $199 and the 16GB model at $249. However, local prices will vary from the manufacturer’s market range. Nonetheless, Google keeps its word that it will offer great devices under a 200-dollar price range. This is going to be Amazon’s next biggest problem when it’s launched in the market. It is apparent that Google is going to capture the Android tablet market with budget-friendly devices that come with high specs and stuffed with tons of features. One aspect that made people so interested with this device is the fact that it will feature the latest version of Android. But all these will be confirmed during the Google I/O conference in the next couple of days. Stay tuned as we will bring you the latest updates of this year’s conference.
