The ICS update brings a lot of improvements and features to Sony Xperia S. While we know the company is trying to capture a new market, it is still integrating some of the things we have seen before such as better audio quality as well as good photo captures. Basically, Sony’s Xperia series of phones are built and designed for multimedia and it is trying to stick to its brand name that we know for so long. Now, let’s try to see what ICS brings for your Xperia S smartphone.
Walkman Application. I don’t have to tell you why the word “Walkman” sounds familiar. The company is actually trying to integrate the quality audio to its latest devices. While we could say Walkman is from the 90′s, you would still be able to appreciate the quality of the audio this technology offers. Using the Walkman application, you would be able share, like or discover the tracks or music your friends are listening to. Also, the app is integrated into Facebook to boost its social capabilities.
Album Application. Aside from the music, Sony is also trying to integrate its Cybershot technology to its new devices. Sony Xperia S does not actually feature the Cybershot brand, yet it is capable of capturing high resolution photos using its 12 megapixels camera. Basically, the photos captured by its sensor have better quality, so the company wants owners to be able to sort their photos the easiest way possible through the Album app.
Movies Application. Now, you might start to believe that Sony Xperia S is designed and built for multimedia purposes. Having 4.3 inches display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution, you can almost tell that such device is designed for streaming high-definition video clips or movies and that’s what this smartphone can do best aside from the two mentioned above.
There are other features this firmware offers to the owners and some of them are the following;
- Lock screen with improved functionality
- Resizable widgets (improved personalization)
- Improved control of your mobile data consumption
- Recent Apps button for clear overview of your applications
