The announcement was brought to us by Associate Brand Marketing Manager of Hardware, Crystal Mackenzie, who confirmed that Sony would start distributing it on May 25th. This partnership between Sony and Activision seems to be brighter than other partnerships that the Japanese company have tried before considering there is a huge volume of following in the gaming industry. Entertainment is actually the best commodity for people right now and gaming consoles as well as video games are always included on the list of the most sought-after products.
PS3 have acquired impressive following in the UK and Asia so basically, Sony is just trying to squeeze out more juice from the slim version of PS3. Reports indicate that it is nearing the release of yet another gaming console to replace the third generation PlayStation. PlayStation 4 is believed to be released in 2013 in which it is expected to face its fierce competitor, Xbox 720 (or whatever Microsoft would call it). In fact, Sony also released the limited edition Red PS3 in the UK and it would soon make its way to the US. And we can tell, it is trying to generate more revenue from PS3 before PS4 arrives.
Activision, on the other hand, is also about to release Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 this year. If the PS3 CoD: Modern Warfare 3 would become a hit, we might be seeing another bundle from these companies next year. But that is just mere speculation. In fact we don’t really know if this first bundle would make an impressive sales projection. We are actually thrilled to know whether Sony and Activision could really pull off a good partnership. After all, they are not competitors, so it would be better to work together to gain more customers and profit.
