Motorola Defy XT & Defy Mini Announced, Price & Features Available

Motorola Mobility has announced the existence of Motorola XT670 in China, it has also announced a couple of devices in India; the two devices are Defy XT and Defy Mini. These names sound familiar to us because there have already been devices released earlier this year that also bear the same name. In fact, there are many of them. But their number would simply tell us what they can do. Motorola Defy series are actually robust devices or at least, built to last longer either under water or in normal condition. The selling point of these devices actually lies on its being water-proof and robust. But don’t get me wrong, Motorola has given them decent specs, let’s see about that first.
Motorola Defy XT
If the water cannot penetrate so is the dust. It goes without saying that all water-resistant devices are also dust-proof and that’s the case for all devices under the “Defy” series of Motorola and Defy XT is never an exception; its case is shut tight enough that water couldn’t get pass through and that’s actually one thing people like about it. Under the hood, Defy XT sports Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 MSM7227A which is clocked at 1 GHz. This is a single-core mobile processor which is now being used for budget-friendly smart phones just like this.

A 512 MB RAM has been put into it to complement with its powerful processor. It also has 1GB of ROM and a microSD slot which supports cards of up to 32 GB. It comes with 5 megapixels camera and a 3.7-inch display featuring 480 x 854 pixels resolution. To provide greater protection for the display panel, the manufacturer has given it a Corning Gorilla Glass protector. Also one of the most impressive features of this device is the 1650 mAh batter that could run up to 9.5 hours of straight talk time. This could be happening because it is running on Gingerbread which is known for being energy-saver. It carries a price tag of INR 16, 190.
Motorola Defy Mini
Just by hearing the name, you can almost predict it is a smaller handset compared with others. That’s true because it only has 3.2-inch display with 320 x 480 pixels resolution. But just like its big brother, it also has Corning Gorilla Glass protector. However, it only gets 600 MHz processor as Motorola used Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 MSM7225A for this device. Apparently, we can conclude that this handset is targeted to play in the low-end market with its 512 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM. A 1650 mAh battery was used to power it up for 9 long hours. It is being marketed for INR 11,490.
Defy Mini
According to the reports, both Motorola Defy XT and Defy Mini will be sold starting June 20th onwards but it is now available for pre-order in some online retailer stores like FlipKart. Motorola’s Defy lines of phones are among the most robust and durable and while people are starting to like the company, it has already been acquired by Google and these devices could be the last from Motorola without Google’s name on it.
