Lenovo K800 Intel-Based Android Smartphone Launched in China

We’ve first heard about Lenovo K800 Android phone in January and we knew by then that the Chinese market would be the first one to see this device in action. We also knew about the specs of this device but the information we got that time wasn’t really sufficient until today. While the specs of this device do not really cause so much stir in the Android world because of its mediocrity, the fact that it is an Intel-based device excites us. We want to know how good Intel’s mobile processors are and what technology makes it ahead of others which also fall on the same category. Let’s try to look into the specs of this handset once again as it is worth the second look.
Lenovo K800
Display. When it comes to display, Lenovo K800 couldn’t be left behind by other smartphones in the same category considering it sports a fairly large screen with 4.5 inches in measurement. Albeit it uses the liquid crystal display (LCD), there is no way one can underestimate the quality of the picture it displays as it uses the latest In-Plane Switching (IPS) technology that gave it a considerably higher resolution at 720 x 1280 pixels. This will bring us to around 326 ppi pixel density. Its light sensor is what makes it adjust to the surroundings, thus you can expect auto-brightness adjustment on this device.
Hardware. Perhaps the very feature of this device is its Intel-based processor. To be specific, it uses Intel Atom Z2460 single-core CPU clocked at 1.6GHz with complementary Intel graphics. To be able to maximize the potential of its CPU, Lenovo has given this handset a full 1GB of random access memory (RAM). This will ensure that this device will be faster and smoother in performance. This is the factor that actually excites us and we want to know what this device can do. Not every day that we see an Android smartphone with Intel’s chipset so we are still trying to speculate the full potential of this device.
Connectivity. Lenovo K800 has every connectivity peripherals needed like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. It also sports USB 2.0 port and microSD slot. While we didn’t get the specific amount of memory this device brings, the fact that it has a microSD slot that supports up to 32GB of removable storage is reassuring. At least, we will never run out of space if we want this device to stuff our files or anything. But considering it is a mid-level device, the ROM should not exceed 8GB. In fact, we are lucky if we get 4GB from this device.
There is no information as to the price of this device but it is now being offered in China. While we know it will reach the American soil, the question of when is one of the few things left unanswered. Lenovo is among the few manufacturers to sport Intel-based Android smartphones and considering the reputation of the chip titan, it would always leave us wondering what the capabilities of this device are. Let’s wait and see if Lenovo can bring this device to us soon.
