Motorola XT760 Ultra-Slim Android Smartphone Announced

We have reported about Motorola Mobility’s intention to release its super slim Android smartphone by the form of Motorola XT760 that’s why it didn’t come as a surprise for us to hear about its launching a few hours ago. In our previous report, we also talked about Motorola MT680 but we haven’t heard a thing about the latter. However, the reports that said XT760 will be offered to Chinese market were actually true. In fact, it is now available for sale in China in a bid to stay on track being the major company to gain the trust of the locals. For months now, American companies try to penetrate the market of the country with the population almost half of the world’s total.

While China is one of the countries adapting or imitating all or majority of the technologies in the world, the specs of the devices being released in the country seem to be mediocre and this device is never an exemption. However, it is still worth mentioning. So, let’s try to look a little closer into this device’s specs and see how competitive it is.
Hardware. Motorola XT760 will get a dual-core processor clocked at 1GHz frequency. It is paired and complemented by 768 MB of RAM and 2 GB of ROM or internal memory. Just in case you want to upgrade your storage, a microSD slot is available for your perusal. Apparently, it is one of the devices that get 1 GHz CPU but with RAM higher than 500 MB, so it is faster and smoother than you expect.
Display & Camera. Motorola is not really into giving its devices better display. However, the fact that XT760 will be sporting a TFT capacitive touchscreen with multi-touch capability is really bad at all. You should consider this devices comes with 4 inches screen with 540 x 960 pixels. Its camera comes with 8 megapixels and can record HD videos. It also features geo-tagging and LED flash. The secondary camera gets a VGA resolution which is suitable for video chatting and conferencing.
OS. Now, one thing that could turn off any Chinese Android lover or tech enthusiast is the operating system. If you are one of the people following the development of Android, you would know there are tons of features Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and Gingerbread is dated. But unfortunately, when you buy this device, you will Gingerbread only with no information as to when the update to ICS will be rolled out.
Battery. Motorola hasn’t really excelled when it comes to the amount of power it has given to the batteries of its new smart phones. Thus, we cannot expect this device to get as much power to keep it running for a long time, and considering it is slimmer than you think, Motorola couldn’t just put it bigger and bulkier bathroom. With 1650 mAh, Motorola XT760 may be able to run for 5 to 6 hours straight or many earlier than.
The Chinese market may have been flooded with new devices. The thing is most of those devices have dated software and some hardware are really mediocre. That’s the reason why Chinese are so obsessed with new technologies and smartphones. But for people who don’t want any cool smartphones, Motorola XT760 could be a perfect device for them
