LG 55EM9600 55-Inch OLED TV Design Shown

LG recently made public the design and overall appearance of its high-end television set known only with model number 55EM9600. The company has been so quiet about the specs, technology and design of this set and it is only until now that we have a glimpse of the possible final appearance of this product. We have seen how vivid and deep its color and picture during CES 2012 and we know since then that it would never be cheap. While there is no specific price revealed by LG, some tech analysts predicted that LG 55EM9600 will not be marketed lower than $10,000 threshold. In Europe, it is even rumored that it will be marketed with a price tag of €9,000 (or around $11,300). Now, let’s try to see what this TV has to offer for us and whether or not it is worth the rumored price.
LG 55EM9600 55-Inch OLED TV
LG makes use of OLED technology to project brighter, more vivid and deeper picture on the screen. It is one of the few manufacturers that actually use this technology. While it may sound common especially for people who have knowledge about television sets, many manufacturers still resort to using old technology for the sake of not having to spend much on the display panel. So basically, only the manufacturers who are into providing superb entertainment experience are the ones that use OLED technology. Aside from LG, Samsung also has a 55-inch OLED TV but it’s offered for a bit lower that this product if the rumors regarding the price of this are true.
The back panel of this TV is protected by the glossy carbon fiber. Aside from stuffing a lot of good things into this television set, LG also thinks of the safety and security of this product by giving a durable back covering. There’s no other TVs available in the market today that sports a carbon fiber back casing and this could be one of the factors why it is priced so high. Carbon fiber is often the material used for race car hoods, doors and coverings. The point is, this product may be able to sustain unusual pressure if it falls down or be hit by anything at the back. So, you can be assured that your entertainment investment is well-protected.
All the connectors are stuffed at the back leaving the front panel as smooth and minimalist as possible. Unlike other television sets, LG 55EM9600 was built to be orderly. Thus everything are put at the back including AV connectors and the USB ports. That being said, yes, there are three USB ports you can use to play supported video from your USB flash drive directly into your TV. That would add to convenience this entertainment hub is offering for everyone. Knowing LG is a seasoned TV manufacturer, it comes as no surprise for us to appreciate the brilliance of engineering being put into this device. I believe that it is worth its price. While it may not be as affordable as we expect, it is a good thing to know there are TV sets like these that actually provide almost perfect pictures.
