Android App – Lightbox photos Review – Features, Ease of Use

The lightbox photo app lets you take pictures, apply filters and effects and upload them to either the lightbox account or any social networking websites like Google + and Facebook. The app, updated on 11th August 2011, includes camera and flash settings which is very convenient and easy to use. The app can also pull pictures from your social networking accounts so you can add effects to them. The interface is pretty neat with a plethora of effects that one can play around with.

Features:

The only thing that sets this app apart from the many other photo effects apps out there is that the Lightbox has a very neat looking interface. Otherwise, the features offered in the lightbox are pretty much similar to what other similar apps like picplz have to offer.
He different filters the app offers are all labeled and appear on top in portrait view and on the left in the landscape view. Filters range from the usual black and white to retro, X pro, Lomo etc. A big green OK button he bottom right corner can be used to save the image with the desired filters. The app allows you to label the new photo and add details of it like where and when the photo was taken.
The app pulls all the photos of your friends that are present in your twitter feed or on your Facebook homepage. The lightbox has a gallery of its own where it saves all these photos so you can add filters to them and make them more vibrant. The functionality of the app is very smooth and is one of the plus points of the app. The app proves extremely useful for taking and uploading pictures on the web.

Ease of use:

The app has a simple interface with a black and grey theme. The font is large enough to be comfortably read and navigating through the app is simple. The app’s functions are very basic and thus not too difficult to understand.

Verdict:

The lightbox photos is a free app for now. It has a great interface and some pretty cool filters. It also has a built in camera app so one need not exit the app to take a picture. However, other photo applications available these days have more options for effects etc in them. Whatever lightbox photos are offering can be found in other, better apps. The app can be used to easily upload pictures to Facebook with added affects. The lightbox seems promising and hopefully new additions and updates will follow.
