Apple’s Smart Cover Case copied by Anymode

Apple’s Smart Cover Case
Apple’s Smart Cover Case
In March 2011, Apple launched the Smart Cover cases, very useful accessories for the iPad 2 tablet. Soon the first bad clones arrived. Then, the Smart Case for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablets was recently released. When Apple’s lawyers are circling and breathing in your back, it would be a wise move to stay away from copied products or from companies that are launching rip-offs. This is exactly what is happening with the case of the new Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet, namely the Smart Case. It is manufactured by the Anymode company, which has close ties to Samsung.
And here’s an interesting fact for you: it seems that the ties are so close that the CEO of Anymode is a nephew of the head of Samsung. Pretty neat, isn’t it? Regarding Apple’s Smart Cover rip-off, it is identical to the Smart Cover and has the same goal: protecting the Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet as well as a support for keeping the terminal in a straight position. Even the “Smart Case” name shows us the product which was used in order to clone this accessory and you should know that Apple has already patented the name Smart Cover. Otherwise, even the “Smart Cover” name could have been copied, right?
Returning to Anymode, the Linkedin page of the company describes it as having a strong affiliation to Samsung Electronics, providing it key accessories. With the current courtroom battle between Samsung and Apple, a new copied product is the last thing the Asian manufacturer of the Galaxy series needs right now. At this point, the lawyers of the Cupertino giant are probably sharpening their claws … and pens. It is true that a product released on the market can be manufactured in various forms by others but the Smart Cover cases were patented by Apple and I foresee that Anymode’s cases will soon be removed from the market.
