“Happy End” for the soap called Desire! Android 2.3 Gingerbread arrives this month!

Android 2.3 Gingerbread
Android 2.3 Gingerbread
Great news for every Desire user out there! The owners of the Desire phones have had a tumultuous last month, finding that they will not ever get the update to Gingerbread. Then, as you know, HTC changed their mind and made a new decision stating that the Desire smartphone will indeed get the precious Gingerbread update. As a result, they requested some time until the arrival of the updated software. Now the soap continues as in today’s episode the users received the promise that they will get access to the Gingerbread operating system before the end of the month.
Initially, HTC stated that it doesn’t want to compromise the Sense experience and therefore they will not launch a tarnished Gingerbread for the Desire phone. What made them changed their mind we’ll never know but a day after the statement, criticism from fans followed on Facebook and Twitter and the Taiwanese manufacturer reconsidered its decision and promised that Gingerbread will arrive on the Desire but with some features missing. Let’s be a little mean, shall we and say that the released the misinformation deliberately, just to alleviate the users discontent vis-à-vis the disappointing Sense’s UI. It is not such a radical theory and I’m sure it wouldn’t surprise anyone if it turns out to be true. Now we can use the help of those inside sources…
HTC made the right decision after all because it would have been rather strange that the new software does not run on this terminal, which offers 576 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM, enough for some third party solutions to already bring the Android 2.3 on the handset. Not we learned that the final software solution is in the phase of internal testing and now we have a deadline for its arrival: the end of July.
