Who doesn’t love a good mystery? As you probably know by now, one of the most anticipated phones of the moment besides the iPhone 5 is the Nexus 3. Initially, there was talk that it will be produced by LG, but the official account twitter of Samsung Mobile Romania confirmed the fact that that rumors were false and that Samsung will produce the following Nexus. They are already making preparations for starting production, it will arrive in late 2011 and will run the Android 4.0 operating system – also known as the Ice Cream Sandwich. It will merge the Android 2.3 Gingerbread with the Android 3.0 HoneyComb.
There are many rumors regarding the Nexus 3. Interesting rumors about an astonishing Super AMOLED HD display running at a resolution of 1280×720 pixels and the hardware department isn’t left behind either with a quad-core processor making the rounds. At least now we have a starting point: we know for sure it is being produced by Samsung and that it will boast the Android 4.0 HoneyComb. On the other hand, they could pull a Nexus S move on us – hardware specs that seem to be taken from the Samsung Galaxy S phone, the next Nexus might start from where the Galaxy S II ended and it would not be too bad.
One thing is certain though. The Nexus 3 will face tough competition as it will compete directly with iPhone 5 and in order for the phone to be successful it should surprise everyone both in the hardware department as well as with its operating system and software. Probably launched in late 2011, Google’s Nexus 3 is one anticipated smartphone! What do you think? Is this the official confirmation from Samsung or just a clueless tweeter left in charge of Samsung’s twitter?
