As Viewsonic unveils is newest and latest tablet, the dual operating system operated ViewPad 10Pro, it has been causing quite a stir in the tablet market. The amazing thing about this tablet is that in it you will get two operating systems installed in it: the Android 2.2 Froyo and with it Microsoft’s Windows 7. The tablets power comes from the latest in innovative technology: the 1.6 Gigahertz Intel’s Atom Z670 processor along with 2 GB of dedicated RAM. The latest device comes with a screen of 10.1 inches and at a not-too-shabby resolution of 1024×600, a 1.3 megapixel front camera (with nothing on the back side unfortunately), complete HDMI out, along with support for a docking station.
It will have two models which will have two completely separate prices once it comes out at the end of this month. USD 600 will buy you a 32 gigabyte SSD hard-drive with a windows 7 Professional, and a USD 500 will buy you a 16 gigabyte and along with that will come Windows 7 Home Premium, both will support micro SD for data up to 32 gigabytes. Relatively powerful specifications to be running Froyo, if you ask me; although combined with Microsoft’s Windows 7, we are all very very curious as to see how it will come about when it comes to performance.
This is definitely a very interesting device and one to watch out for. Not only is it priced fairly but the dual combinations or two very different operating systems is going to be an interesting phenomenon to witness. The lack of a back-side camera does disappoint me however, and although the processing power is great, absolutely great for a tablet we still have to see how this processing power will perform when it comes two running two operating systems.
